Mark V: The Opera, and A Month of Sundays, Eugene Debut 12-10-22

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eugene - Old Eugene hand, author, and singer/songwriter Derek Lamson joins The New Zone Gallery, (10th and Oak, Eugene), Saturday December 10th at 4:00 p.m., for the Eugene debut of his new graphic novel, Mark V: The Opera, a Eugene story; and his new musical album, A Month Of Sundays. (Copies of both will be for sale at discount.) At 130 pages, Lamson and his partners have cooked up a deeply personal, entertaining, and wild ride through multiple takes on the famous Gadarene Demoniac story from the Bible; a book that’s also a love-letter to Oregon’s second city, Eugene, and a deep dive into our epidemics of racism, homelessness, and mental health crisis. Lamson’s guests will include book partner artist John Williams, and Marvel Comics consultant and U of O professor Dr. Ben Saunders. It’s suggested come early, as the evening will kick off with Eugene’s own Kriss Crowley, Kathy Burleson, and Slim Novak, joining the veteran songwriter Lamson, live on selections from his new self-penned anthology music album, A Month of Sundays, his fifth collection.
