The song is called Rise and Derek and Friends had it in heavy rotation through the late 90s. Finding this was so much fun: I literally have not heard it in 10 years. Bill Norris was the recording engineer; it was mixed by Rich Vanderwal, (also on bass); my writing, me on lead vocals and guitar; April VanderwaI, harmonies. remember sort of finishing writing it the winter I met Rich.
